Steve Deaville – Managing Director

Steve joined Commerce Decisions as Managing Director at the end of 2015. He is a business leader with over 20 years’ experience in the software and services industry. Having started out as a solutions developer, Steve has worked with a number of large software companies including Microsoft and Pitney Bowes Software where he was the UK Managing Director and Regional Director for Northern Europe.

More recently Steve has been working with some smaller UK early growth companies looking to break into new markets and he has a wide experience of both public and private sectors. Steve is a member of the British Computer Society as well as the Institute of Directors.

Peter Marshall – Professional Services Director

Peter is responsible for managing Commerce Decisions’ consultancy and training services and assisting Commerce Decisions’ clients to deploy best-practice process and tool support on their procurement projects. Peter’s expertise includes procurement strategy, RFX development, requirements management, planning and executing evaluations, negotiation and contractor de-briefing.

Gavin Shepheard – Sales & Marketing Director

Starting out in the telecoms software industry in the US in 2001, Gavin has a comprehensive background in software sales. Since 2004, he has built up an impressive sales track record with Commerce Decisions, primarily selling across the public sector. Appointed as Sales Director at the end of 2012, Gavin is leading the sales team on an aggressive growth plan, focusing on retaining and growing existing core markets as well as developing new business from international markets and partnering. During his time with Commerce Decisions, Gavin has acquired extensive experience and knowledge of both the procurement industry and software sales.

Matt Stafford – Head of Operations

Matt joined Commerce Decisions in February 2014 having worked within QinetiQ since 2000. Matt has worked in management, consultancy and research environments, and is an experienced Operations, Business and People Leader. Most recently Matt led QinetiQ’s Acquisition Services business, serving a broad range of MOD and commercial clients. As a strong generalist, with a rigorous and diverse background, Matt takes pride in providing timely, pragmatic advice and strategic guidance. He delivers a highly personalised and bespoke service to those depending upon high quality management, reporting and operational leadership. Matt seeks to create positive and rewarding environments, backed by a passion for organic talent development, in which people flourish to maximise business success.

Kathryn Gable – Commercial & Sales Manager

Kathryn has worked with the company since 2001 and has played a key role in the growth of the business, leading on all marketing, commercial, legal and sales operations activities.  She has an in-depth knowledge of the UK Government market, with particular experience in the MOD sector. Kathryn has been fundamental in the development of the MOD account, and played a key role in the closure of the MOD corporate AWARD® licence deal at the end of FY13. Kathryn is responsible for all marketing initiatives;  leading on Commerce Decisions’ re-branding and website relaunch in both 2008 and 2014.  She is now working with the UK, Australia and Canada teams to support and grow these markets.

Alan Elsey – International Operations Manager

Alan is an Operations Professional with experience in both commercial and government settings.  His role prior to joining Commerce Decisions was with a satellite telephone company where he was responsible for devising and implementing company strategy across USA, Europe and Asia. His experience and knowledge of company structures, compliance regulation and governance, and the correct application of these procedures, is now being applied to support Commerce Decisions’ international growth strategy.

John Crickmore – Managing Consultant

John is the Managing Consultant for Commerce Decisions Pty Ltd, the Australian operations of Commerce Decisions. John assists our clients in the Australian region through the provision of AWARD® and by advising on how to best manage their evaluations. John manages the operational, business development and project delivery aspects of the business. John has been involved with the public and private sectors for over thirty years, working in a number of roles, delivering practical solutions to the problems that clients face in acquiring complex solutions. He has supported some key defence and public sector projects, including the $1.5billion acquisition of new capability and sustainment of existing capability in the maritime sector.
