We’re continuing to grow our team across the APAC region, in response to growing demand. Our latest recruit is Caleb Davis who has joined us in the role of Technical Analyst.
His main focus will be supporting customers to get the most from AWARD® on their projects. We get to know a bit about Caleb and what his new responsibilities will entail in these quick fire questions below.
Why did you decide to join Commerce Decisions?
I wanted to join Commerce Decisions because it’s a growing global company offering a range of unique solutions. I was interested in the opportunities the Technical Analyst role offered in supporting clients and procurement specialists, both in Australia and worldwide, as well as the potential to travel in the future.
I look forward to being able to assist clients throughout the procurement process and help them get the most from the AWARD® software. It’s very rewarding to know you are making your customer’s job easier and helping them to achieve the best outcome from their procurement projects.
What are you doing in your new role?
I am providing technical support to clients and assisting in the creation of any required AWARD® builds for their projects. I aim to ensure they have the best experience with both the AWARD® software and our services. Handling calls and emails from clients will also be a big part of the role as well as working with the Helpdesk team internationally, to help resolve any issues they have.
What have you enjoyed most so far about working at Commerce Decisions?
The team at Commerce Decisions are very friendly and caring and the culture is great. It feels like an inspiring company to be a part of and I love the fact that there is a lot of opportunity to grow in the role and to further my skills.
What are you most looking forward to?
I look forward to growing within the company and to a future with Commerce Decisions which I believe will be an exciting journey.
What is your background?
I moved from Sydney to Canberra in 2002. I have travelled around the world and lived overseas. As a child, I lived in Hangzhou, China, near Shanghai, for a few months and I also lived in the Washington, DC area for three years. My parents were working in the US and love travelling. A few years ago, we returned to Australia and for five years I worked as an IT and Apple Specialist at the Officeworks retailer where I served customers and sometimes helped to manage the store. I gained experience across all the departments at Officeworks, where I advised customers on suitable IT equipment and efficient processes.
I then moved into the defence sector, providing desktop support for just under a year and then onto the role of Project Coordinator within defence where I learnt how projects work and gained a new set of skills. This inspired me to look for a new role to build my experience in this area.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as going to the gym and playing computer games, and I have a passion for sports cars. I also love spending time with my two dogs, Ellie, a Siberian Husky and Astro, a Japanese Spitz.
