We are seeking to recruit a UK Public Sector Account Manager to support our UK Government client base. Reporting to the Head of Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining and supporting new and existing business, working closely with the New Business and Customer Experience teams. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in the next stage of growth for Commerce Decisions; we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is comfortable with the opportunities and challenges of solution sales and looking for the next challenge within their career.

Role responsibilities

  • The Public Sector Account Manager will promote and differentiate Commerce Decisions solutions through customer-focused presentations of technology and services. 
  • The Public Sector Account Manager will work with the VP Sales & Marketing and Head of Sales to lead, develop and execute strategies in relation to existing and target accounts.
  • Working with the New Business team, the Public Sector Account Manager will pro-actively initiate and support campaigns to new and existing Accounts, including the generation of new leads and responding to in-bound enquiries.
  • This role will work closely with the New Business team to convert new leads
  • Working with the Customer Experience team, this role includes the management/supervision of existing accounts and the generation of upsell opportunities 
  • The Public Sector Account Manager will interface with the New Business team, our Customer Experience team and the Commerce Decisions’ consulting team, to ensure effective transition from pre- to post-sales project phases.


Additional detail on role requirements:

  • Develop and maintain an excellent working knowledge of the AWARD® software
  • Work with the Customer Experience and Consulting team to develop and maintain an understanding of how best to deploy and use AWARD® to meet the needs of our new business customers
  • As required, attend customer sites to deliver presentations and demonstrations.
  • Work with our Consulting, Customer Experience and wider sales teams to ensure we are providing a coherent, proactive and a full account management service to our new and existing clients
  • Participate in responses to formal Requests for Proposal and Invitations to Tender
  • Engage proactively with clients to provide professional and timely support at all times
  • Update the sales CRM system and prepare timely sales pipeline reports and forecasts
  • Provide feedback to product and marketing teams in order to ensure market and competitor information is shared
  • Share industry knowledge and experience with other members of the sales team
  • Attend conferences and exhibitions where appropriate.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Government/Defence and complex procurement processes
  • Experience selling software and/or professional services
  • Knowledge of procurement software applications and marketplace.
