Commerce Decisions, a QinetiQ company, has established a permanent local presence in Canberra, Australia, through the registration of Commerce Decisions Pty Ltd. The decision to formally enter the Australian market is driven by significant opportunity and demand for Commerce Decisions’ procurement expertise and delivery of the AWARD® software solution. Considerable interest has been shown to date by sectors including defence, infrastructure, transport, civil and federal government.
“I am delighted and very proud of this key step in Commerce Decisions’ journey. An established team and base in Australia will provide our clients with locally accessible and delivered services while building value-adding relationships in the Australian procurement sector.”
Wendy Wates, Managing Director, Commerce Decisions
Commerce Decisions was awarded its first Australian contract in 2013 to deliver the AWARD® evaluation software and supporting professional services to the Defence Materiel Organisation. Subsequent contracts include the General Maintenance Contract for the Guided Missile Frigate (FFGGMC), Organic Mine Countermeasure Devices (MCDSPO) and, more recently, Joint Health Command.
Commerce Decisions Pty Ltd will be led by John Crickmore, who has over 20 years’ experience supporting major Defence and government programmes. John will apply local knowledge to Commerce Decisions’ proven world class solutions to deliver value and benefit to Australian clients.
The establishment of Commerce Decisions in Australia, which is a QinetiQ company, is complementary to the QinetiQ Group’s existing Australian business. Commerce Decisions and QinetiQ Australia have been working closely to ensure this new Commerce Decisions entity provides opportunity for separate and joint delivery on critical Australian programmes. Mr Crickmore will be based at QinetiQ Australia’s Canberra office, drawing on the company’s existing in-country infrastructure and aligned support services.
