The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has renewed its corporate licence agreement with Commerce Decisions, leading provider of software and services to support through-life procurement and delivery processes. This is the third successive year that the MOD has contracted for enterprise-wide use of the AWARD® solution to support the delivery of its procurement process.
AWARD® is a collaborative web-based software solution, designed specifically to support strategic procurement projects. AWARD® has been successfully deployed across MOD for over 13 years, supporting a wide range of Defence programmes – including construction, transport, defence systems, IT outsourcing, collaborative frameworks and multi-lot projects. Use of the AWARD® solution has enabled the MOD to better manage and standardise its evaluation practices with repeatable processes; the renewal of the corporate licence agreement will ensure that these efficiencies continue to be maximised across the organisation.
The MOD’s Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation has a £14 billion annual budget to buy and support all of the equipment that the UK military requires to operate effectively. A further £6 billion is procured by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), the Commands and the MOD Centre, with approximately 5000 contracts placed each year.
AWARD® supports the MOD requirement to work more efficiently. It delivers consistent, repeatable processes for project deployments and is proven to reduce time to contract, improve value for money and reduce risk. AWARD® has supported over £150 billion worth of projects to date, across a range of sectors including central, local and regional government, utilities, transport, healthcare, aerospace and defence.
Wendy Wates, Managing Director, Commerce Decisions said, “We are delighted to be awarded this MOD corporate licence agreement for the third successive year, recognising the value of our continuing support to MOD’s procurement evaluation processes. We look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with MOD, increasing procurement efficiencies, maintaining a high standard of service and building confidence in the evaluation process.”
